Eclectic: a mix between Contemporary Christian and Worship

In the last three months, dStreet has been trying to focus attention on artists that are performing music that is out of the mainstream music scene.

Jim Barber falls into this category. You are more likely to see Jim performing at a local prison rather than the local tavern. Jim's music can be defined as "contemporary Christian with a twist". He doesn't limit himself by performing in a church setting, but will perform places where he can get is message out.

I was able to see Jim perform at the Tridge in Midland and was impressed with his talent. He performed songs from his album "Give me the Grace", which he wrote all of the songs. He showed he has a good vocal range and his vocals were right on the money. He also had a high energy level and good stage presence, especially in front of a crowd was not necessarily there to see a "christian artist".
