Members:
Matthew Douglas

Music Type:

Matt hails from the UK and started playing guitar at the age of 14. He played in a couple of cover bands during his first year at college and then joined a progressive rock three piece band called Harbinger. Harbinger played their original rock music at various college events and rock venues in the North of England. After college Matt left Harbinger to focus on a non-musical career and gradually played less and less as he focused on family and career. Ultimately this turned out to be a fifteen-year hiatus from regular playing. Matt and his family moved to Midland in 2000 It was here that Matt found the right environment and circumstances to begin playing guitar again and exploring his untapped vocals. The local music scene welcomed him with open arms offering friendship and support. Matt currently plays as a solo act Mr. 6 Strings, in a band called the Loose Cannons and in a duet from time to time with Deb Cochran form the Cherry Red Band.

Matt is also active in encouraging his son Jack to enjoy music. Jack has been playing drums and guitar for about four years. Jack and his buddy Zach Zimmerman often jam together and Matt was been lucky enough to perform with Jack & Zach at local charity events such as this years Magic Ride.

Matt can be caught at various venues in Mid Michigan including, Decker’s Bar, McNamara’s Pub & 101 Main Street in Midland, Mulligan’s in East Tawas, The Kingfish, Bay City

Matt has been working on some ideas for original material and is planning on recoding when time permits.

Over the years Matt’s musical influences have come from most of the musical spectrum. Acoustic and electric blues, progressive rock, classic rock, funk, Motown, soul , jazz & Irish are all included in the music that Matt likes to listen too and play.
