Jourdan Braman
Music Type:
Heavy Metal, Hard Rock
I had a chance to see Slippery Kitty at Rodeicher's in Freeland in January and the first thing I noticed was the stage set up, which was impressive to say the least. Drummer Jourdan Braman also owns Event Horizon Lighting and creates an awesome stage set up. Then I thought, "OK the lights are cool, but can these guys play music?" That question was answered when Slippery Kitty took the stage. Their vocals were tight with all four members singing on different songs. Helen does a great job with "Zombie" by the Cranberries and Pat Benetar's "Hit me with your best shot".
On top of great vocals, Slippery Kitty has a tight drummer in Jourdan and a solid bassist in Jeff Chandler (formerly of Groove Circle). The member who stood out the most was guitarist Brent Yurgaites. He is one of the fastest, tightest guitarist that I have seen. I was impressed with their version of "Symphony of Destruction" by Megadeth.
People are starting to talk about this band and after seeing them perform, I can see why. If you get a chance to catch them, I would recommend you do.
